What is a Leap Year

A leap year is a year with 366 days (one extra day compared to common years - February has 29 days). The rule: A year is a leap year if it's divisible by 4 but not by 100, OR if it's divisible by 400. For example, 2024 is a leap year, 2100 is not, and 2000 is a leap year.

FAQ

Q: How can I quickly jump to a specific month?

A: In the 'Quick Navigation' area below the calendar, click the corresponding month button (1-12) to jump instantly. To change years, use the left/right arrows repeatedly, or check the year in the date info area.

Q: How are week numbers calculated?

A: We use a simplified week calculation: divide the day of year by 7 and round up. This method is intuitive and quickly shows your position within the year.

Q: How far back or forward can the calendar go?

A: Theoretically, you can view the calendar for any year. In practice, it's mainly used for dates within the past and next few decades. For historical dates, note that different countries adopted the Gregorian calendar at different times.
